How to read the shareholding pattern

This table shows who owns the company, broken down by group, over time. Ownership shifts can be informative; here is what a beginner typically notices.

  • Promoter holding is the stake held by the founders/controlling group. A steady or rising promoter stake is often read as the owners keeping "skin in the game"; a falling stake invites a closer look at why.
  • FII (foreign institutional investors) and DII (domestic institutional investors) holdings show how much large professional investors own. Big swings across quarters reflect institutional sentiment shifting.
