Top gainers and top losers
The stocks of F&O stocks that rose or fell the most in percentage terms in the chosen session, measured from NSE's previous close. Switch between 1 day, 1 week and 1 month to see the biggest movers over a longer stretch.
Volume against the 20-day average
Today's traded shares divided by the average of the previous 20 sessions. A big price move on 3 times normal volume had far more participation than the same move on thin volume.
Delivery %
The share of the traded quantity that was taken for delivery. A high delivery share on a big move means more of the buying or selling was by holders, not only intraday traders.
Sparkline
The small line shows the last 20 closes, so you can see whether a big day came after a run-up, a fall or a flat stretch.
Penny stocks and illiquid stocks
The full NSE list includes very small and thinly traded companies whose prices jump on tiny volumes. Use the turnover filter (at least 1 or 10 crore) or the NIFTY 500 list to focus on liquid stocks.
How We Calculate It
Data
NSE's official capital-market bhavcopy for every session, with NSE's own previous close, plus the delivery file. Weekly and monthly changes and the 20-day average volume are adjusted for splits and bonuses so that a split does not show up as a crash.
Lists
NIFTY 50 and NIFTY 500 use NSE's published constituent lists, saved daily; F&O stocks are the stocks with futures traded that session. "All NSE stocks" covers every EQ, BE and BZ stock that traded.
What Our Backtest Found
Big gainers
Across 11,872 cases from January 2023 to October 2026, a stock that rose 10% or more in a day (with at least Rs 1 crore traded) did slightly better than the market the next day on average (+0.53%), but the typical case (median) was already behind (-0.57%). Over the next 20 sessions only 37% beat the market and the median lagged by 4.3%.
Big losers
Stocks that fell 10% or more did not bounce on average: they lagged the market by 1.2% over the next 5 sessions and by 2.2% over 20 sessions, beating it in only 40% of cases.
How to use it
A big move is news, not a forecast. The average is pulled up by a few stocks that kept running; most did not. This page is for education only and makes no buy or sell call.

This page does not recommend any stock. On our NSE data, stocks that rose 10% or more did not keep beating the market on average over the next days; results varied widely from stock to stock. The list describes what happened, not what will happen.
Why do top gainers lists show unknown small companies?
Small, thinly traded stocks can move 10% or 20% on very little volume. Filter by turnover or use the NIFTY 500 list to see larger companies.
What does volume 3x mean?
The stock traded three times as many shares as its average over the previous 20 sessions.
When is the list updated?
Every trading day after NSE publishes its end-of-day bhavcopy in the evening. Intraday moves are not shown.
